Kitchen Storage Ideas

And speaking of kitchens, here are some lovely kitchen ideas that I am thinking of trying out for myself. I spend a lot of the time in the kitchen - cooking, eating, and just hanging out. Out of the whole house this is where the family mostly spend their time, and we've had a lot of wonderful meals and conversations here.

The most beautiful thing I've seen lately is PioneerWoman's sugar and flour drawers! Oh my! Such a genius idea. The sliding door is perfect to keep the bugs away, and the glass panel makes it easy for you to know how much there is left:

Other things that made me go gaga are:

lovely wicker baskets

a kitchen pegboard

retro canisters

tea wreath (if you dislike the cluttered boxes)

upper shelves

jars, jars and jars of spices and other loves!

A Lavish Hall

England’s Glemham Hall features 18th and 18th Century art pieces enlarged to cover the walls. This room features Portrait of Baroness James de Rothschild (1848) by Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres.  Photographed by Tim Walker for W Magazine, April 2011. (via)

I think it's gorgeous!

Vintage Storage

Some vintage storage ideas via Apartment Therapy. Not so much into the old metal lockers ones. I mean, I do like them, but not specifically for this feel. Too cramped and gray. I love those that have been refurbished and given bold colors. So, I am just featuring wooden crates that I think are a nice and inexpensive idea:

Recycled Chairs

These chairs are all made out of recycled materials. Would you call it art? Would you say they're functional? (via)

This one's made out of gun shells.

This one's made out of rope.

This one's made out of old CDs.

Probably what I love best - this one's made out of cork.

This one's made out of an old bathtub.

So French!

Love these French inspired home designs via House and Home. They just really speak of elegance and sophistication, yet is bold and full of character. Of course I'm dreaming still, but someday, someday. I will have something like this for my home, you'll see!
